Transmission Methods
OMM / MI 12 provides legacy transmission method and has now been superseded by the OMI-2 and OMI-2T. The OMM-C / MI 120 variant allows for integration into the machine spindle nose.
The OMM unit comprises an optical receiver that communicates with a spindle or turret mounted probe.
Probe trigger and control signals are processed by the separate MI 12 interface, located in the machine
tool control cabinet.
The MI 12 replaces the earlier MI4 and MI7 interface unit
