LP2 Lathe Probe
High-performance, compact probe suitable for inspection and tool setting applications. Suitable for use with the OMP40M and OMP60M, the radio transmission system RMP40M and RMP60M, as well as inductive transmission modules. Can be hard-wired for grinder inspection applications.
LP2, LP2H and LP2DD probes can be used in optical, inductive and hard-wired systems. Optical transmission is best suited to field retrofitting and optional fitment. The optical transmission method requires an LTO optical transmission unit. The LTO range provides a variety of solutions to suit different machine sizes, but each unit is functionally similar. They enable the probe to be turned on and off via an M-code, or turned on via an M-code and turned off via an internal timer.

Performance specification is tested at a standard test velocity of 480 mm/min (18.9 in/min) with a 35 mm stylus. Significantly higher velocity is possible depending on application requirements. Trigger force, which is critical in some applications, is the force exerted on the component by the stylus when the probe triggers. The maximum force applied will occur after the trigger point (overtravel). The force value depends on related variables including measuring speed, machine deceleration and latency. These are the factory settings, manual adjustment of the LP2/LP2DD is possible, but not possible on LP2H/LP2HDD.
