About SH25
The SH25 range of stylus holders enable accurate scanning measurements with effective stylus lengths ranging from 20 mm - 400 mm. They have a kinematic coupling that connects to their respective SM25 scanning modules to provide a repeatable connection that eliminates the need for probe requalification after a change. The stylus holders are designed to only fit with their respective scanning module. They should be used with Renishaws M3 range of styli.
The SH25-3A stylus holder has an effective stylus reach of 120 mm - 200 mm.
Please note: The SH25-1/2/3/4 holders are recommended for use with linear stylus arrangements, while the SH25-5 and SH25-2A/3A/4A holders are recommended for use with cranked and star stylus arrangements.

SP25M Modules and Stylus Holders
A range of module kits allows SP25M users to build up their probing capability over time. Each SM25-# scanning module is optimised in terms of gain and spring rate to suit the range of stylus lengths specified. For every module, there is a matching SH25-# stylus holder. The SH25-3 and SH25-4 stylus holders are constructed with a fixed carbon fibre stem to which an M3 stylus is mounted, selected to provide the correct working length. Whilst the SP25M can carry cranked (non straight) styli configurations when using SM25-1/2/3/4 scanning modules and the original standard stylus holders (SH25-1/2/3/4) but for optimum metrology where larger offsets are required Renishaw recommends the new SH25-2A/3A/4A range of stylus holder, specifically designed to meet the challenges posed by such stylus arrangements.
